Whole Wheat Bread - Home made bread is one of everyone's favorite food that would satisfy the carb cravings. It can be combined with any fillings, toppings, or eaten as is. This is one of the basic simple recipes and a healthy vegetarian lunch and vegan lunch or dinner .

Ingredients:


  • Whole Wheat Flour - 2 cups
  • Water 1 cup + 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste


How to Make:



  • Add whole wheat flour, salt in a bowl and mix with warm water to form the dough
  • Keep it aside for 20 mins
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out a small quantity of the prepared dough into round shape
  • Heat the pan and place the hand-rolled dough. Flip slides when slightly brown.
  • Serve with sautéed vegetables, curries, chutney, etc. or eat plain.

Ingredients:


  • Whole Wheat Flour - 2 cups
  • Beets - 1
  • Water 1 cup + 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive Oil - 4 tsp


How to Make:



  • Wash, chop beets with 2 cups of water.
  • Strain the beet water and save it.
  • Add whole wheat flour, salt in a bowl and mix with beet juice from the boiled beets, a little at a time.
  • Mix well with a pinch of salt to form the dough by adjusting water for the right consistency.
  • Keep it aside for 20 mins
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out a small quantity of the prepared dough into round shape.
  • The thickness can be as desired.
  • Heat the pan and place the hand-rolled wraps. Flip slides when slightly brown.
  • Smear with olive oil on both sides.
  • Serve hot with sautéed vegetables, curries, chutney, etc. or eat plain.
  • Beets can be mixed with salad greens and served on the side to complete the meal.

Toasted Pav Bread - Home made pav bread when served warm is very satisfying. Alternately use store bought fresh pav bread and try out multi grain bread varieties.

Ingredients:


  • Whole Wheat Flour - 2 cups
  • Water 1 cup + 2 tsp
  • Yeast - 1 sac
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegan Butter - 4 tsp


How to Make:



  • Add yeast to water and keep aside.
  • Add whole wheat flour, salt in a bowl and mix with yeast water to form the dough.
  • Allow it to raise as per instructions.
  • Knead and make balls.
  • Using a baking pan, bake the prepared dough balls.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Cut each pav into slices (2-3).
  • Heat the pan and place the sliced pav. 
  • Coat with vegan butter, flip slides when slightly brown and toast both sides.
  • Serve with sautéed vegetables, curries, chutney, etc. or eat plain with masala chai tea.

  • Mix with warm water to form the dough
  • Keep it aside for 20 mins
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out a small quantity of the prepared dough into round shape
  • Heat the pan and place the hand-rolled dough. Flip slides when slightly brown.
  • Serve with sautéed vegetables, curries, chutney, etc. or eat plain.
